Honors News and Updates
Get Ready for Spring 2026 Registration
Registration comes around every semester, but it always feels like a fresh start. Get a jump on getting ready for spring by planning your schedule, taking advantage of advanced registration, and selecting your Honors classes. This term we even have a new opportunity where you can get registered for your Honors classes quickly and early, bypassing the registration form. Whether you’re choosing courses that move you closer to graduation, exploring new disciplines, or securing the schedule that fits your life best, this is the time to map your path.
Priority Registration for Honors Classes
Today advisors with the Academic Advisement Center will be able to help you register for your Honors classes. You will be able to pick and register for these during the online registration event—no registration form or week-long wait required! Keep an eye on your SF email for an invitation to schedule a time on November 7 to meet with an advisor and select your classes.
Fall 2025 Honors Registration Requests Open
Starting November 8, Honors students can begin building their schedules for the coming spring semester. Start planning for next term by viewing the Spring 2026 Honors Course Catalog.
Before you register, be sure to check your eSantaFe account for registration holds. Holds, such as the requirement to complete a registration agreement or meet with an advisor, will result in you being ineligible to register for courses and significantly delay processing.
Plan Your Spring Schedule
Are you trying to figure out which classes would be the best fit for this spring, summer, or beyond? The best way to set up a plan for success is to meet with your advisor in the Academic Advisement Center. Log into eSantaFe now to find your advisor and set up a time to meet.
If you are planning to transfer to UF in the future, now is also an excellent time to plan on meeting with an advisor from your intended program. Contact the UF@SF Center for information on when UF advisors will be visiting to meet with prospective transfer students.
Right Now: Check for Account Holds
Before you register, be sure to check your eSantaFe account for registration holds. Holds, such as the requirement to complete a registration agreement or meet with an advisor, will result in you being ineligible to register for courses and significantly delay processing.
Register for your non-Honors classees
As a member of the Honors Program, you have access to advanced registration, meaning that you’re among the first students who can pick their classes and lock in your schedule. Starting on November 6, you can log into eSantaFe and register for any of your non-Honors Classes.
Meet with a Navigator
Do you have questions about being successful in the Honors Program? Do you want to plan out how you’ll earn your points and graduate with Honors? Do you want some insight into how to get the most out of your time at SF? Honors Navigators are leaders in the Honors Program who are here to support you. Come drop in during office hours to connect with a Navigator, talk about Honors, and stay successful!
Do you need to meet virtually with a Navigator? Starting now, you can join Navigator office hours virtually. Just click the link below during their office hours and a Navigator will be able to help through video chat on Teams.
Meet with a UF Transfer Advisor This Fall
Throughout the Fall semester, UF transfer advisors will be available to meet with SF students to discuss prerequisites, academic planning, and applying for transfer. Meetings are drop-in only, and some advisors are planning to come on multiple dates. If you’re thinking about applying to UF, look below for the schedule of meetings and plan ahead so you can be there!

Earn 5 Honors Points For Attending This Event
Join the Department of Biomedical Engineering for a seminar led by Dr. Chase Hartquist, Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida. This seminar will explore the critical challenges of mechanical failure in soft materials and medical devices, particularly in areas like vascular surgery where “herniation” can cause a loss of control.
Dr. Hartquist will discuss how traditional models often underestimate the energy needed to rupture polymer networks and will present new design principles for soft, resilient materials. His research focuses on understanding the mechanical and failure behaviors of soft structures, networks, and polymers to inform the design of high-performing materials for applications in medical technology and clean energy.

Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics Civil Discourse Series: What Ties a Nation Together?
Earn 5 Honors Points For Attending This Event
Each year the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics hosts its Civil Discourse Series, which brings together panelists with different perspectives for a conversation on a timely public issue. This year they invite you to join them as they ask: what ties a nation together? They’ll explore creeds, cultures, institutions, and practices that create—or strain—social cohesion. Rather than a debate on border policy, they’re interested in the deeper question of what citizens must share, if anything, to form a common democratic civic life.
Their goal is to offer students and the wider community a live example of thoughtful disagreement—how strong differences can be aired and examined respectfully and substantively.
This year’s event will feature as panelists Dr. Desireé Melonas, Dr. Harris Mylonas, General Lori J. Robinson, USAF, Ret., and Dr. Christine Rosen, and will be moderated by Professor Nien-hê Hsieh, the Kim B. Clark Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School.
If you attend the Harvard Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics Civil Discourse Series: “What Ties a Nation Together?”, please write your reflection about the event and upload it under “Attend an Event” to earn Honors Credit.
