Happy Monday, everyone! I believe you all are focused on the important business of finishing strong this semester and getting ready for the Spring, but also looking forward to Thanksgiving break. As you may already know, the College will be closed from Wednesday until Sunday. Additionally, there are no office hours from Tuesday (tomorrow) through Sunday.
Since there won’t be another edition until next week. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Register for Spring 2025 Honors Classes
Starting today, Honors students can begin building their schedules for the coming spring semester. Start planning for next term by viewing the Spring 2025 Honors Course Catalog. Although there are a couple of gaps left to fill in, all TBA courses will be updated in the upcoming weeks.
Check eSantaFe for Registration Holds
Before you register, be sure to check your eSantaFe account for registration holds. Holds, such as the requirement to complete a registration agreement or meet with an advisor, will result in you being ineligible to register for courses and significantly delay processing.
Request Classes Now
Are you ready to request your Honors classes for Spring? Use the Honors Registration Request system to select your classes now. Submit your request today, and we will begin processing them as soon as possible. Regularly check your student email for confirmation of registration or additional details about next steps after this date.
Planning for Spring Classes
Are you trying to figure out which classes would be the best fit for this spring, summer, or beyond? The best way to set up a plan for success is to meet with your advisor in the Academic Advisement Center. Log into eSantaFe now to find your advisor and set up a time to meet.
If you are planning to transfer to UF in the future, now is also an excellent time to plan on meeting with an advisor from your intended program. Contact the UF@SF Center for information on when UF advisors will be visiting to meet with prospective transfer students.
New to Honors? Remember to take a first-semester credit
We know that having a strong foundation and common academic experience are great ways to make sure you are successful in the Honors Program. As such, all new Honors Program members accepted for Spring 2025 are required to sign up for one of the following courses for the Spring 2025 semester.
Sign up for one of the courses below. Each course is a one-credit class that will require up to 3 - 4 hours of involvement per week. If the class is SLS1320, you will need to submit a registration request, but you can enroll in LIS1002 and LIS2004 via eSantaFe like any other class. If you are not able to register for one of these courses or if registering for one of these courses for the spring would present an inordinate burden, please email honors@sfcollege.edu so that we can coordinate on a solution.
Option 1: Honors Foundation Seminar (SLS1320) The Honors Foundation Seminar gives you an opportunity to connect with other members of the Honors Program, SF resources, and our local community. Build a strong foundation in the Honors Program while working together on a semester-long service project that supports a local organization! Because this is an Honors course, it is worth 10 Honors Points. This class meets once per week on Fridays—section GH1 at 9:30 and section GH2 at 11:00—and begins in Spring G (February 2).
Option 2: Library Online Resources (LIS1002) Library Online Resources is a one credit hour course that provides an introduction to information retrieval using SF library databases. This class is available online in either Spring A (first half of spring) or Spring B (second half of spring). You can register for this class on your own through eSantaFe.
Option 3: Internet Research (LIS2004) Internet Research is a one credit hour course that focuses on methods of accessing information resources available through the Internet. Students will learn how to design effective search strategies and how to retrieve, evaluate, and cite Internet sources. This class is available online in either Spring A (first half of spring) or Spring B (second half of spring). You can register for this class on your own through eSantaFe.
