Have a presentation for a class? Looking to practice your speaking skills for an upcoming conference? Or, do you just want to get over the fear of public speaking?
The Learning Commons will be hosting Presentation Workshops on Friday and Sunday afternoons in Y-203 at the Tyree Library. Students will get the chance to work one-on-one with a presentation and writing tutor to perfect their slides, refine their notes, and create a polished presentation. Students will also have the opportunity to present in front of fellow workshop attendees and tutors, where they will then receive personalized feedback to reference. You will also get the opportunity to watch and provide feedback for your peers, creating a welcoming and supportive environment that everyone can learn in.
Each session lasts roughly 1.5 hours, which may be shorter depending on the number of presenters. Students are required to stay the entire time to ensure all students have access to feedback and gain experience speaking in front of an audience.
Sessions begin at the following times. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in to computers and to pick your presentation time.
Friday: 1:00pm, 2:30pm
Sunday: 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm
