Honors Program News
The Honors Program has a New Setup for Updates
This week, you’ll start to notice that we’re dropping into your news feed a little more frequently. Instead of asking you to dig through a long list of updates at the end of every week, we’re breaking things into more bite-sized pieces.
Introducing the Monday Edition. At the beginning of each week, you’ll get an update like this one straight from the Honors Office that lets you know about important Program and College news like application deadlines, registration updates, advising information, and graduation procedures.
And, engage and earn points on Thursdays. If you’re looking for ways to stay engaged and earn points, this is your jam. At the end of each week, we’re sending out a breakdown of volunteer, academic, cultural, and community opportunities to do cool stuff and make progress toward your Honors diploma.
Spring 2024 Honors Graduates: Plan Your Points and Portfolios
You’ve got a lot going on, especially if you plan to finish up this semester. To make sure you get to graduate with Honors, High Honors, or Highest Honors, you’ll need to apply for Honors graduation—and we’ll have information on taking that step soon. For now, you can take a couple of steps to make sure you’re ready when the time comes.
Start calculating your current Honors Points balance. Chances are, you’ve done a lot of stuff to earn points, even more than you realize. You can start to get a sense of whether you’re on track to earn Honors (150 points), High Honors (195 points), or Highest Honors (240 points) by completing the Honors Credential Worksheet.
Get to work on your Honors Portfolio. You are going to submit your Honors Portfolio later this semester with your Honors Graduation application, and it will represent all of the excellent work you’ve done at Santa Fe College to earn your Honors credential. You can learn more about the Honors Portfolio and begin using the Folio tool in Canvas by looking at the Honors Portfolio module in Canvas. We’re also going to have some excellent portfolio workshops later this semester, so keep your eyes on the feed for opportunities to collaborate on our Honors Portfolios.
