Honors Update
After 9 short months of summer, we may have actually made it to Fall. Not only is the semester in full swing, but you can finally drink your favorite pumpkin-spiced beverage without feeling guilty! For Honors, this time of year means important program updates, exciting events, and lots happening on campus.
In particular, make sure that—if you plan to graduate this semester—you apply for graduation from Honors. This way, we can recognize your achievements and celebrate you at the end of the semester. And, this is particularly important as this semester sees our first ever Honors Awards Ceremony, where we will confer regalia (Honors medallions) on graduates and recognize those who have gone above and beyond in their time in SF Honors. More information on the event, including date, time, and location are coming soon.
And, as things ramp up for the term, take some time to connect with your peers and your passions at an upcoming event—whether it’s with the Harn, for constitution week, or at Club Rush.

You expect this to be your final semester at SF.
You expect to earn at least 150 Honors Points before finishing this semester.

Honors Points Update - Waiting on Review? Not for Much Longer!
Over the last few months, many of you have emailed, called, or visited the Honors office with questions about when your points will be evaluated. Due to an issue with our Canvas system, points evaluation ground to a halt over the summer. It took us a while to figure out the problem, fix it, and get back on reviewing your points. Honors staff now have points review back up and running, so if you have involvements you’re waiting to be recognized, it shouldn’t be much longer. We’re going to keep you up to date and let everyone know, in a future Honors News installment, when we’re caught back up. In the meantime, you’ll want to keep in mind that:
Every points submission will either result in you earning points or receiving feedback about an element of the submission that may need to be fixed.
If you don’t have points or feedback, nothing is wrong, we’re just still catching up.
If you receive a comment on your suggestion asking you to update or change the materials you’ve submitted, you can just
Information Session – Harn Museum of Art Opportunities
Ana Gamboa and Errol Nelson from the Harn Museum of Art, University of Florida, will present two ways students can engage with the museum, get invaluable preprofessional experience, and connect with art, history, and the museum.
The MUSE (Museum University Student Educator) volunteer program invites students from all majors to plan and present creative activities, outreach initiatives, and participate in Museum Nights and other dynamic programming. MUSEs help shape visitor experiences and bring fresh student perspectives into museum planning and visitor engagement. That firsthand involvement builds professional development, museum literacy, and leadership skills.
The Harn paid internship program spans all museum departments—from curatorial, development, and education to marketing, horticulture, registration, multimedia, and visitor services. Interns work on specific projects, gain mentorship from museum professionals, and make direct contributions to exhibitions and programs. These roles develop practical skills and professional confidence while expanding your career network. Interns have gone on to positions at major institutions like the Met, the Guggenheim, and the Getty.
Interns may be eligible for competitive stipend support from several endowed funds—the Criser, Tim Joiner Memorial, Dixie Neilson, Jalyn Imani Stallworth, Mary M. James, Jacqueline Friel, and Berns endowments—each tied to commitment, leadership potential, and alignment with the Harn’s mission of inclusivity and community. These funds strengthen your résumé while encouraging reflection on your goals, values, and impact Harn Museum of Art.
Attending the session equips you with clarity on expectations, timelines, and application strategies for both paths.

As an Honors Navigator, you’ll play a vital role in showcasing the unique opportunities within SF’s Honors Program. You’ll help create a welcoming and supportive community and serve as a key resource for student life and the program itself. You’ll also earn 20 Honors Points per semester for your contributions.
In this role, you’ll engage in activities such as recruitment, orientation, and events that connect prospective and new students with all that the Honors Program has to offer. You may also participate in college-wide initiatives, attend state and regional events, and visit local schools to help inspire students who have not yet discovered our community of Honors students and dedicated instructors.
Ready to make a meaningful impact in your Honors community?

Students who get involved succeed! When you connect with the Honors and Santa Fe communities, you make the most of your education. Not only can you join clubs that help you explore your interests, but you also find new ways to get support from classmates, give back to your community, and advance your professional career. Club Rush is a great time to learn about all of the student organizations at SF, as clubs will table, advertise, and seek new members all at once. Club Rush will take place at the Oak Grove on the SF Northwest Campus on Wednesday, September 17, and Thursday, September 18, from 10 am to 2 pm.
There will be numerous fantastic clubs in attendance, but make sure you get a chance to check out the ones below, all of which were recommended by your fellow Honors students.
