30 honors points for program participation
Are you ready to broaden your academic horizons in the biomedical or behavioral sciences? The SF2UF Bridge to the Baccalaureate program invites applications for its 2024 cohort. This unique initiative fosters educational growth and offers hands-on research opportunities at the University of Florida – all while you continue your studies at Santa Fe.
Dedicated to supporting students from underrepresented groups, this program provides an enriching environment for both professional and personal development in the scientific community. FitForAll Nonprofit Volunteer Information

Are you passionate about fitness and looking for a volunteer opportunity? Apply to volunteer at Fit For All!
About: FitForAll is a Nonprofit organization at Gainesville Health and Fitness that provides exercise classes for adults with disabilities in the Gainesville area.
Length of Class: 1 hour, 2-3 times a week during the semester.
One session of FitForAll: two 6-week sessions (12 weeks total) offered in the fall, spring, and summer semesters, with classes offered on either Mondays + Wednesdays + Fridays or on Tuesdays + Thursdays.
Fall 2024 session: September 4th- November 22nd, observing the same holiday breaks as the UF academic calendar.
Class Time: 3-4pm
Location: Gainesville Health and Fitness (4820 W Newberry Rd)
About Class: 10-minute warmup, 15 minutes of cardio (on various machines), various forms of resistance training, and a 10 minute cooldown. Various fitness games and sports are also incorporated into the program to build camaraderie and confidence because the number one goal is to make fitness fun and accessible! UF students run the program, and they are always in need of enthusiastic volunteers to ensure every athlete is getting the necessary assistance and attention during class!

Planetarium: Florida Skies – Autumn

Join James Albury, host of “The Sky Above Us” and former co-host of the PBS TV Show “Star Gazers” as he takes you on a personally guided tour of our night sky, using our GOTO Chronos Space Simulator. Florida Skies is our weekly star show that familiarizes you with some of the popular constellations visible from sunset to sunrise and the stories behind them. They will also show you how and where in the sky you can find the brightest planets.

Planetarium: Music 360 – 50th Anniversary – Pink Floyd: Dark Side Of The Moon
2 Honors Points for Program Attendance
About: Pink Floyd’s iconic album ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’, originally released in March 1973, turned 50, and what more fitting a place to celebrate it and experience it than in a Planetarium, through the music set to visuals. With the help of modern technology, the idea of a show combining breath-taking views of the solar system and beyond, played out to 42 minutes of The Dark Side Of The Moon in surround sound, has been embraced by the band. NSC Creative have led the visual production efforts, working closely with Pink Floyd’s long time creative collaborator Aubrey Powell from Hipgnosis.
This show has a limited run, so catch it while you can!

About: Santa Fe College and the Latina Women’s League are teaming up to host a series of engaging conversations. These discussions are designed to help students, faculty, staff and the Gainesville community learn more about Latin American History, Culture and Arts. Dr. José Valentino, an acclaimed artist and entrepreneur, holding numerous prestigious awards including the Grand Prize® and multiple Latin GRAMMY® and DownBeat® Music Awards, will be presenting “Getting to the GRAMMY®s and Beyond: The Art of Practicing Entrepreneurship for Quality of Life.” As a versatile flutist, saxophonist, and bassist, he has headlined over 1,400 concerts across six continents, including Carnegie Hall. He has also led over 40 non-profit mission trips, produced 150+ albums, and published 80+ research articles. Dr. Ruiz serves as the Founder & CEO of JV Music Enterprises, Music Producer at Hayden5, and Global Director of Entrepreneurial Initiatives at the Global Institute for Music Research.

Audubon Florida’s Conservation Leadership Initiative
30 Honors Points for Program Completion
Audubon Florida has led conservation efforts for over a century, protecting land, water, and wildlife throughout the state. As we continue to advance these efforts, we are excited to invite the next generation of conservationists to join us through our annual Conservation Leadership Initiative (CLI). CLI is a year-long program for students at Florida colleges and universities interested in environmental conservation careers. Running from November 2024 to May 2025, CLI offers mentorship, leadership skill-building, professional development, field trips, and project planning. We invite all undergraduate students to apply for this opportunity.

About: Gators at Remote Area Medical (GRAM) is the student-run UF chapter of Remote Area Medical (RAM). RAM is a non-profit organization that operates pop-up clinics throughout the United States, offering high-quality medical, dental, and vision services to underserved and underinsured communities. GRAM aims to prevent pain and alleviate suffering by providing free, quality healthcare to those in need. By volunteering at RAM clinics, GRAM volunteers can help make clinic operations as efficient as possible and witness how their efforts make a positive impact on the lives of others. Outside clinics, GRAM volunteers also have various opportunities to be involved within our organization. GRAM hosts monthly interactive GBMs, and medical skills workshops such as CPR training, and coordinates local service/volunteer events.

About: This leadership opportunity is generally an 8-10 month intensive fellowship — valuable to future nurses, physicians, physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians, as well as other future healthcare providers and anyone interested in gaining skills in public health while supporting healthcare systems around the world. This pre-professional internship entails 3-5 hours per week and is a truly enriching experience that will provide you with great skills for professional life such as learning about healthcare in a global context, gaining effective leadership and communication skills, acquiring international and public health work experience, and attending several orientations and workshops focused on personal development and cultural sensitivity.
