5 Honors Points for Attending Event
As graduation day approaches, many students feel very anxious about their future, especially if they’re unsure about their career path. The good news is that it’s perfectly ok to be uncertain about what you want to do in the long term. This talk will focus on some of things you can do before and after graduation keep yourself moving in the right direction while you figure things out and how you can increase your chances of “falling” into the right career.
ThemeWorks is a fabricator of exhibits, props, sculptures, and scenery for theme parks and museums worldwide. Our client list includes Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Creative, The Smithsonian Institution, and many others. I joined ThemeWorks during its early years in 2001 and have watched it grow into one of the most capable and highly-regarded scenic fabrication firms in the United States. Along the way I’ve been able to participate in many amazing projects, work with some of the most talented people in the industry, and have some truly amazing experiences. Although I attribute most of my career success to sheer luck, there were certain things I did along the way that helped me take advantage of opportunities when they arose. I look forward to chatting with you about working in a creative environment and sharing a few tips on preparing for a successful career even if you’re not sure where you’re headed.

UF Mobile Outreach Clinic Volunteer Positions Open
1 Honors Point per Volunteer Hour
The UF Mobile Outreach Clinic opened applications to new volunteers on Monday, June 3rd. The UF Mobile Outreach Clinic travels daily to different medically underserved communities in Alachua County. We provide education and free, flexible primary care services including women's health visits, work/school physicals, and specialty referrals. We also hold Ultrasound and Neurology clinics for our patients every month. Often, our patients belong to marginalized and minority populations; MOC seeks volunteers who can provide culturally competent and sensitive care to each unique patient.
Volunteers call and follow up with patients after their clinic visit, addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) and providing external community resources. Our Care Coordinators are an extremely valued asset to the clinic. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and take tangible action against health disparities in Alachua County. Additionally, volunteers join the clinical team in their second semester of the Care Coordination Program to assist providers as medical scribes and to complete intake for patients, among other tasks.
Applicants are encouraged to visit our website and our Instagram @ufmoc to learn more about our clinic and volunteer program. Please find attached an informational flyer regarding our Fall 2024 application cycle. We will be having a virtual interest event on June 12th at 5:30pm, and an in-person interest event at 4th Ave Food Park on June 17th at 5:30pm. You will be able to meet current volunteers, learn more about our program, and ask any questions you may have regarding our Care Coordination Program.
Care Coordinator applications will be open from June 3rd to June 21st and are available on our website: https://outreach.med.ufl.edu/volunteers/become-a-care-coordinator/
Application Requirements:
· Commit to three consecutive semesters at MOC (while being a student) - Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Summer 2025
· Resume
· Tentative Fall 2024 Schedule
