Welcome back, everyone, from spring break! We’re now officially in Registration Season, which means it’s time to make a plan and register for the coming terms. For a quick version, take a look at our Registration Info page.
What’s Different This Time?
In previous semesters, Honors students relied on the Honors Program Office for academic planning, class selection, and registration for courses during advanced registration. This semester, Honors Students:
Can register themselves for Summer and Fall classes in eSantaFe during Advanced Registration, as early as March 27.
Will register for Honors Classes using the Honors Registration Request Form
Will work with Academic Advisors in the SF AAC and UF@SF Center to develop academic plans.
How do I Know What to Take?
We’re all more successful when we know why we’re doing what we’re doing, and this semester is a perfect time to build or refine your academic plan. Whether you are working on your first plan of study, created yours with me last semester, or got your start with Professor Hom, now is a great time to connect with an advisor to build a plan. Just remember that you want to take at least one Honors class per semester.
Honors Registration Workshop: Do I Need An Academic Plan?!
March 13, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Building S, Room 241
Many students have already reached out to our office about selecting classes for Summer and Fall. Start planning for upcoming semesters by working with our Academic Advisors in Building S, Room 241 to learn about academic planning and how you can use it to satisfy your program requirements.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring an electronic device to the workshop. Students who attend will have an opportunity to receive a free Subway cookie voucher.
Email the Academic Advisement Center at academicadvisingcenter@sfcollege.edu for more information.
Meet with your Advisor in the SF Academic Advisement Center
Your advisor in the AAC is the expert in preparing for graduation from SF and transfer to a university and they are dedicated to supporting your education and career goals. Make an appointment to put together your academic plan now, before it’s time to register. You can learn more about the AAC through the SF Advisement website, or set up an appointment to meet with your advisor.
Meet with a UF advisor in the UF@SF Center
If you are planning to transfer to UF in the future, now is also an excellent time to plan on meeting with an advisor from your intended plan of study. Contact the UF@SF Center for information on when UF advisors will be visiting to meet with prospective transfer students.
When and How Can I Register?
As an SF Honors Student, you have access to Advanced Registration, meaning that you can register for classes as early as March 27. The process for registration is a little different, however, depending on which classes you plan to take:
Non-Honors Classes: Log into eSantaFe during Advanced Registration, then navigate to “Classes” and “Register for Classes.” Select the sections you want and register for them. It’s that easy!
Honors Classes: Registering for Honors classes requires that you submit an Honors Registration Request form. Just log into eSantaFe and find the Honors classes you want to take—their section numbers will have the letter H in them—and then put their information in the form.
Important Honors Reminders:
SF Honors Needs Your Support - SF Open House
SF is hosting the biggest recruitment event of the year on Saturday, March 23, and we need your help! On that Saturday, thousands of families will come from across the country to learn what SF has to offer. Many of you have already volunteered to support SF by staffing information stations, but the Honors Program also needs your support. Luckily, there are several ways to connect with potential SF students and encourage to be involved with our program. Spread your passion for Honors by taking part in tabling, share your experiences in an Honors info session, and answer questions from new and prospective Honors students. If you’re interested in learning more, click the button below to register for volunteering with Honors for Open House.
UF Presentations at the UF@SF Center
We are thrilled to announce a series of presentations by faculty from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida. These presentations will provide valuable insight into exciting degree pathways, programs, majors, and minors that UF offers. Whether you’re exploring majors, considering possible options, or feel you’ve already found an excellent program, we highly encourage you to attend and learn about these fantastic options.
The next presentation takes place March 28, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. We will be joined by Quinn Hansen and Timothy Karis, who will talk with us about Spanish, Portuguese, and International Studies. The location for this event is the UF @ SF Center, Santa Fe College NW Campus in Building HA-132. Please make it if you can and learn how Geography and Chemistry can prepare you for careers, pre-professional, and graduate programs.
